THE WAVES AND WINDS STILL KNOW: CONSORTIUM FOR SOLO FLUTE WITH CHAMBER STRINGS

This new work for solo flute and chamber strings will be an addition to advanced flute repertoire, appropriate for recitals, contests, auditions, etc.

Flute with Chamber Strings Accompaniment (43221) 
Duration: 5-8 minutes 
Delivery of Scores and Parts: September 1, 2024 

The title comes from the text of the hymn Be Still My Soul (Katharina von Schlegel, tr. Jane Borthwick): 

"Be Still my soul, the waves and winds still know His voice who ruled them while he dwelt below."

Waves and Winds Journal

Welcome to the Consortium! 

Thank you for joining this consortium! I am honored that you have decided to invest in me in creating a new work for flute. 

I'll use this blog/journal to give updates on the piece, the composition process, insights into the composing; stuff like that. Whenever a new post is up, I'll be sure to send out an email to the consortium members.

FAQ

When will the piece be completed and delivered?
The first week of September, 2024. 

What does 1-year exclusive performing window mean? 
The piece will only be available to those who co-commissioned it through this consortium. It will not be sold or listed anywhere until 1 calendar year after the commissioners received the completed work. 

How do I pay to join the consortium?
Credit and debit card payments can be processed through registration on this website. Click on the "Add to Cart" button for the commission level you wish to join and your card will be safely processed through Stripe. If you are unable to pay by credit/debit card and would like another option, please contact me and we can make other arrangements.
