Calling all Middle School and High School Band Directors!
We are about to enter a new decade, the third of this century. This can be a time of optimism and hope, and I am putting together a consortium to commission a new work that will capture these positive ideals. Certainly, music can be a powerful agent in communicating these and other positive emotions, but more than that: music-making builds community, because it teaches us how to listen, about accountability, sacrifice, and being part of something greater than oneself. Music can help teach these things in a way and to a depth that few others can.
