Upcoming Projects for 2016

With 2015 winding down, I've begun my long-range planning for composing in 2016. Here's what is on the docket for next year, subject to change, of course!

MASS - SATB, A Capella
A setting of the mass ordinary (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei) for chorus. While I am a Protestant (SBC), and the Mass is traditionally a Catholic or Anglican rite, the texts of the Mass are applicable to all Orthodox Christians. This is one of the goals I have in my Sacred music.

THE GOOD SAMARITAN - SATB, Soloists, Orchestra
Using the Biblical texts of Jesus' parable, combined with other Scriptures, sermon texts to create a brief oratorio/cantata. "Who is my neighbor" is a question that Jesus eloquently and profoundly answers.

Various Trumpet Works - A series of chamber works featuring trumpet with various accompaniments for a project collaboration with my old friend and renown trumpeter Christopher O'Hara (http://www.chrisjohara.com).

Untitled Song Cycle- Tenor, Chamber Orchestra. Commissioned by Dr. Leo Day, using texts by Shelley. This will be premiered in the fall of 2016 at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Untitled - Chamber Orchestra, a memorial piece for my sister-in-law. I am considering ways of combining this new work with a charitable organization for fundraising, awareness, etc.

As always, I would love to hear any feedback. Thanks!

We will hope to hear it all! and I look forward to another semester in your good company! Will the mass be in latin, or perhaps igpayatinlay? I dare you! well, it will be good either 'language.' Shalom in y'all's home!
